The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Administrator to support our Sectional Title and Homeowners Association Management team. This entry-level position is ideal for an individual eager to start a career in property management and gain comprehensive exposure to the administrative and financial management of sectional title schemes in compliance with the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration and Record-Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation, including owner/tenant information, meeting minutes, and resolutions.
  • Financial Administration Support: Help with the processing of levies, assisting with budget documentation, and basic financial record-keeping under supervision.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication among stakeholders, including owners, trustees/directors, and service providers.
  • Meeting Support: Prepare meeting notices, agendas, and related documents for trustee and general meetings.
  • Compliance: Ensure all administrative tasks adhere to the relevant sectional title legislation and governance principles.
  • General Duties: Provide general administrative support to the portfolio administrators and the broader team as required.

Requirements

  • Education: A relevant qualification (e.g., certificate or diploma in property management, business administration, or a related field) is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong administrative skills, computer literacy (MS Office Suite essential), excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Attributes:
    • Willingness to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to act fairly and impartially.
    • A strong desire to learn and understand the intricacies of sectional title and HOA management in South Africa.
  • Experience: Previous administrative experience is preferred. Experience within the property sector or knowledge of the STSMA is a distinct advantage.
